Home Performance With ENERGY STAR® Program

In order to have your rebate processed this year, you must have a program approved reservation and your participating contractor must submit your completed project application no later than December 31, 2026. Completed project applications submitted will be processed in the order in which they are received. Due to anticipated high demand, some completed project applications processing and payments may flow over into the start of 2027.

Any projects submitted without an approved reservation and or after the December 31, 2026 deadline will be placed into a pending status awaiting approval from the Maryland Public Service Commission regarding the continuance of the energy efficiency programs.

The EmPOWER Maryland charge funds programs that can help you reduce your energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and save you money. Since the inception of the EmPOWER Maryland program in 2008, the programs have saved $14.5 billion on installed measures at a cost of $4.1 billion. In addition to new program costs, this charge includes paying off the uncollected costs that were accrued over time by programs required by the EmPOWER statute and authorized by the Commission. In accordance with House Bill 864 the uncollected amounts will be fully paid by the end of 2032.
